As I see it, trust comes in three layers. The trust in myself, the trust in others, and the trust in a greater power.
The most solid trust is often in ourselves. I know that I can rely on myself to fix what needs to be fixed. I know I can rely on myself to keep my promises. And I know that I don't let myself down.
The trust in others might be a little so-so. Maybe I have been let down or maybe I believe that no one can or wants to help me. This can be a lonely space to be in, where I feel that I have to hold myself and that I can't really lean on anyone else.
Then there's the relationship to god, life, the universe, mother nature - whatever you call it. Do you trust that this power is working in your favour? Do you trust that it has your back and that you are taken care of? If I lack this trust, life will probably feel even lonelier than if I "just" lack trust in others. And when I trust that life is working in my favour, then I might never feel really alone.
No matter how solid your trust is in the different aspects, see if you can find a pocket of trust this week. A pocket of trust in yourself. A pocket of trust in someone else. A pocket of trust in life. And when you find the pocket - can you let it expand?
If you want to work with me in expanding the pockets, I invite you to join me in Pockets of Grace, one year of expanding the pockets.
